Nairobi------Mara

0730hrs  Pick up from your Hotel in Nairobi and are driven southwest to what is been touted as the ultimate game viewing destination, the Maasai Mara.

An elective stop is provided for at the Great Rift Valley to allow you enjoy a panoramic view of the valley. Your next brief stop is Narok.

You arrive at the Mara in time for lunch.

Your early afternoon is spent in relaxation at your lodge.

1600hrs             In the evening you depart for a game drive till dusk.

24th February: Mara

Waking up in the Mara is an experience unparalleled. Often you will be awoken by the chirping melodies of birds, pleasant sting of the rising sun or perhaps by a loud trumpet of an elephant from a far.

Once awake, you may want to consider a balloon safari. The launch takes place at 0600 hrs. This once in a life time, adrenaline filled experience last for a magical hour and costs only 480USD per person.  It allows you to explore the Mara and watch game from a birds view. Upon landing a Champaign breakfast is layed out for you in the wild, bushes of the Mara. Thereafter you are presented with a certificate of accomplishment and your driver guide picks you for a game drive before taking you back to your camp/lodge.

In the absence of the balloon safari, you have two ways to explore the Mara on this day: Option 1, you may want to do an early game drive that runs from 0630hrs you return to your camp/lodge at about 0900hrs for breakfast. Your mid-morning and early afternoon is spend at leisure at the camp or lodge.

Lunch is served at the hotel and in the evening, you depart for a second game drive in the rolling plains of the Mara till dusk.

Alternatively you may opt to wake up to a relaxed breakfast and at 0830hrs depart from you camp/lodge carrying with you picnic lunches, for a full a full day game drive that extends up to 1530hrs. At lunch time your driver guide will identify a strategic view point for you to enjoy a picnic lunch perhaps overlooking the Mara river and allowing you to watch the hippos & crocs or within the park  watching a predator skim and pounce at its prey .

25th December: Mara

Morning and evening game drive.

Alternatively you can go for a full day game drive that begins at 830am to 3pm.

To do so, you need to notify your driver guide the evening before to enable him book for packed lunch.

The rest of the day is spend in relaxation by the pool side or within the lodge confines.
