Tea farm excursion

0910Hrs            You are picked from your residence/hotel and driven Southwest of Nairobi into part of what constitutes the highlands of Kenya. The highlands of Kenya are arguably the most successful agricultural production regions of Africa.Enjoy endless, stunning and calming views of the sprawling tea farms that spread as far as the eye can see.

We plan you arrival at the farm to coincide with the traditional 11amtea time. Over a cup of tea or coffee you host will take you through the history of the farm and explain the process of making tea. This is preceded by a visit to the tea field and a demonstration of tea picking techniques.

A guided tour to an indigenous forest is provided for during this trip. Your resident guide will identify thevarious plants types and tell you their traditional uses. A brush with the Colobus monkeys that freely wander the gardens is inevitable and so are variety of birds and flowers species.

1300Hrs            At the tail end of your trip a pre-lunch drink is served at the verandah. The verandah is strategically built and renders you sweeping views across the tea fields extending to the knuckle shaped Ngong Hills at the horizon.

This is preceded by a three-course buffet lunch, prepared with vegetables from the garden and desserts topped with cream from the farm’s herd of Channel Island cows.

1430Hrs            You are thereafter driven back to your residence/hotel
